Our mission
Every child’s right to survive, thrive and learn
UNICEF works to protect the rights of every child, with particular attention to children facing the greatest disadvantage or living in the hardest-to-reach places. Across more than 190 countries and territories, it supports health, nutrition, education, clean water, sanitation and protection from violence and exploitation. Its teams also deliver life-saving supplies before, during and after emergencies so children can survive, recover and keep learning.
About the cause
About UNICEF
UNICEF is the United Nations agency for children, created in 1946 to help children whose lives were at risk after the Second World War. Working by mandate of the UN General Assembly, it is impartial and non-political, operates the world’s largest humanitarian warehouse and is the world’s largest provider of vaccines. Its work is funded entirely through voluntary contributions.
